Conclusioni e riflessioni finali: la community si autocelebra
Che dire? È stata certamente una nottata intensa quella del Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles. Non sono mancati momenti divertenti, come il siparietto tra Sunny Suljic e Christopher Judge protagonisti, nei panni rispettivamente di Atreus e Kratos, di quel God of War che a sorpresa ha strappato lo scettro di Game of the Year all’epopea western targata Rockstar Games. Anche i momenti musicali non sono stati da meno, con l’orchestra presente in sala (c’era anche l’immenso Hans Zimmer) che ha riprodotto i temi musicali dei giochi candidati. In conclusione The Game Awards si conferma come una cerimonia sì autocelebrativa, ma necessaria alla crescita di un’industria in costante divenire. Non vediamo l’ora di scoprire cosa ci riserverà l’edizione 2019, per ora ci limitiamo a fare i nostri più sentiti complimenti a Geoff Keighley, vero e proprio demiurgo della cerimonia, e a tutta l’organizzazione.
